Types of Smog
Two distinctive types of smog “Sulfurous Smog” and “Photochemical Smog” are recognized. Sulfurous smog is also called “London Smog”, and Photochemical smog also called “Los Angeles smog”. The high concentration of sulfur oxides in the air is a result of London smog and is occurs by the use of sulfur-bearing fossil fuels, especially coal. This type of smog is exceeded by moisture and a high concentration of suspended particulate matter in the air.
Photochemical smog occurs most prominently in urban areas that have a large number of automobiles and vehicles. This type of smog requires neither fog nor smoke; it has its origin in nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon vapors emitted
Effects of Smog Allergy
Smog is made up of a mixture of air pollutants. It can compromise human health, damage the surroundings, and even cause property harm. The first effect sign of smog may be irritation in the nose, throat, eyes, or lungs. It can also affect breathing. High levels of smog have been linked to an increased risk of asthma attacks, so it’s important for asthma patients to keep their inhalers near during high levels of smog.
